Nigerian-American artiste Jidenna Mobisson, born to American mother and a father of Igbo Nigerian heritage, recalls bringing guns to Nigeria for his father’s funeral. The name Jidenna in the Igbo language means to ’embrace or hold unto the father.’ In an interview with VLadTV, Mr. Mobisson talks about being light skinned, and the insecurities that come with it in Nigeria. He went further to talk about being from the South East part of Nigeria, and how he had to bring with him a lot of AK47s and hire military commandos as guards for his father’s burial in Nigeria. Now people are terribly upset that he exposed Nigeria’s security issues on the national TV, calling him all sorts of names.
