The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has taken into custody two Female Undergraduates of Kwara State Polytechnic for allegedly robbing and mudering one Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara state. The duo, Adama Joy Joseph and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour both students of Kwara State Polytechnic were alleged to have tied the deceased under the guise of having a sex romp and demanded money from him and subsequently killed him.
The suspects, however, claimed that they only intended to steal from him. One of them, Adama, narrated: “There was a time I asked him (Ojo) to help me when I had rent issues, he just ghosted me. After a while when he knew everything was calm and I didn’t need the help anymore, he came back and started texting me again.” She stated that she stayed in her friend’s house to be able to concentrate on her examinations, and at that time, the despicable idea of wasting the business owner came.
She continued: “We proposed the car sex to him and he agreed. The bondage sex too, he agreed. He was even teasing us from the garden about how he was going to deal with us. “Although we were not bothered; we knew we were not planning to have sex with him. We just want to take his cash and leave.” She further explained that the victim subsequently switched from car intercourse to a guest house.
“Because he already had eyes and attention for my friend, he started touching her immediately (after) we came out of the bathroom. And he carried her and placed her on the table. He got naked and got on the bed. Then I got on the bed with him, then he allowed us to tie his hands and legs. He was even the one that raised up his leg for her (Oreoluwa) to tie him.” She further narrated that the duo already had Rohypnol (a powerful sedative that depresses the central nervous system), in their bag to induce him to sleep. She said when they tried to give him, he declined.
“After Oreoluwa tied his hands and legs, I tried to gag his mouth, but he refused, and I stopped. So, when we couldn’t find any money in his pocket, my fried took his phone and showed it to his face to open it with facial lock, but he started shouting, and he loosened one of the ropes on his hands, and started hitting my friend. We put Refnol (Rohypnol) in his mouth. So, in a bid to stop him from making noise, my friend put a pillow over his face, and when he went silent we told him that we were leaving, because we thought he was pretending, but he didn’t respond, so we left. I touched him with a dull knife used for cutting cake, but he didn’t bleed as I never meant to stab him or hurt him. We only wanted to take his money. We didn’t know he died until when the police arrested us in Ogun State. We only took his phone, the knife, and the ropes with us.”
The NPF Public Relations Officer, while parading the suspects in Abuja on Wednesday, October 11, said: “On October 6, 2023, police operatives apprehended the two suspects, Adama and Oreoluwa, who are both students of Kwara State Polytechnic for their involvement in the robbery and murder of Mr Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara state.
He said, “Through meticulous investigative work, our officers were able to track and apprehend these suspects in Mowe Ibafo, Ogun State. “In a tragic incident, the duo tied the deceased under the guise of having a sex romp and demanded money from him. But when he was not forthcoming, they resorted to drugging and suffocating him, leading to his untimely demise.”
“They have been processed and will be charged to court shortly,” the Force PRO added.

The former president of U.S.A proudly showed off a new T-shirt designed with his mug-short on Thursday, in a bid to cash in on his most recent arrest. He hopes his fans will buy to help fund his campaign and legal defenses.
“You can go out and get it, have fun with it, but people do like it I must say,” the former president and reality star said in a video he posted on his Truth Social website where he showcased the $34 shirt.
The shirt features his mug-shot, which was taken after his most recent arrest, and the words “NEVER SURRENDER!”
“They make me look like a criminal,” Trump stated in a video, but insisted that the mug shot “totally backfired,” because it gave him leeway to raise $10 million. Proceeds from the T-shirt will go to Donald J. Trump for President 2024, Inc and Save America.
“The people get it!” he said in the video as he market the ‘mug’ shirt.
The mug shot products range from $12 for a bumper sticker to $34 for long-sleeve T-shirts.
Fulton County, Georgia, judge Scott McAffe who is overseeing the 2020 election subversion case against former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants says that all proceedings in his courtroom related to the case will be livestreamed and also televised. In other words, he would make all hearings and possible trials available to be broadcast on the Fulton County Court Youtube channel.
The former reality star who pleaded not guilty, waved the court appearance and formal arraignment in the 2020 election interference case, thereby avoided having to enter his plea on Camera.
Trump also faces two federal indictments, one related to the mishandling of classified information and another also related to 2020 election interference. The former president also faces charges in Manhattan related to hush money payments before the 2016 election.
Nevertheless, if any of the defendants succeed in getting their case transferred to federal court, as former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is seeking to do, McAfee’s ruling would not apply.
A group of high-ranking military officers in Gabon appeared on national television on Wednesday (August 30) to announce that they have seized power from President Ali Bongo, following controversial re-election. The announcement was made on behalf of a group calling itself the “Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions.”
They stated that they’re annulling the results of Saturday’s election, in which President Ali Bongo was declared the winner of a third term.
The electoral commission said Mr Bongo had won just under two-thirds of the votes in an election the opposition argued was fraudulent.
The officers declared the dissolution of “all the institutions of the republic,” claiming to represent all of Gabon’s security and defense forces.
One of the soldiers said on TV channel Gabon 24: “We have decided to defend peace by putting an end to the current regime.”
He added that the reason for their action was due to irresponsible, unforeseeable governance resulting in a continuing debasement in social cohesion that risks leading the country into chaos,” he added.
Mr Bongo came to power when his father Omar died in 2009.
In 2018, he suffered a stroke which sidelined him for almost a year and led to calls for him to step aside.
If the news is true, that would end his family’s 53-year hold on power in Gabon. The officers also announced that borders are closed untill further notice.
About 100 people arrested for attending a gay wedding in Nigeria
Numerous ‘gay suspects’ were arrested by the Nigerian police for attending a gay wedding. Police stormed a hotel in Ekpan town, located in Delta state, southern Nigeria, at about 2 a.m. on Monday and arrested at least 100 people.
Two of the suspects allegedly got married at the event, Delta State Command spokesman Bright Edafe told a press conference. He further stated that homosexuality would “never be tolerated” in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country with about 230 million inhabitants.
“The amazing part of it was that we saw two suspects, and there is a video recording where they were performing their wedding ceremony,” he said.
“We are in Africa and we are in Nigeria. We cannot copy the Western world because we don’t have the same culture.”
He made it clear that police officers in Nigeria cannot fold their hands and watch gay people openly express their orientation in the country, adding that the suspects will be charged in court at the end of the investigation.
Arrests of gay people are common in the West African country, where the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act prohibits same sex relationships.
The law means that anyone belonging to a gay organization can get up to 10 years in jail, and anyone married to a person of the same sex can get up to 14 years.
The law, enacted by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013, has been condemned by several Western countries.
The incident happened in Prestea, Western region of Ghana, where the teacher was allegedly caught having sexual intercourse with another man. Some men who live in the neighborhood quickly apprehended him and gave him a serious beating. There’s a social and cultural stigma surrounding homosexuality in Ghana. The trending video has received mixed reactions on social media.

Eighteen burned bodies were discovered on Tuesday in northern Greece, possibly of migrants, in an area affected by wildfires, the fire brigade said, as gale-force winds fanned blazes across the country. The area where wildfires have been burning for days is near the Turkish border. The fire brigade is investigating the possibility that these individuals entered the country illegally.
“Given that there have been no reports of disappearances or missing residents from the surrounding areas, the possibility that these are people who entered the country illegally is being investigated,” the fire brigade said.
The Evros region is a popular route for migrants crossing from Turkey into Greece. The wildfire is still ongoing and has burned over 10,300 hectares, the European Forest Fire Insormation (EFFIS) said.
“Searches throughout the entire area where the fire broke out are ongoing,” the fire brigade said.
