A 17-year-old senior secondary school three student (SS 3), Philip Solomon and a student of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure in Ondo State, has been declared as the Guinness World Record holder for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds. Guinness World Record in a statement on its website stated that the most skips in 30 seconds on one foot is 153 and was achieved by Solomon in Akure, Nigeria on 24 January, 2023.
The record was officially confirmed by the Guinness World Record on Tuesday, four months after Solomon’s attempt on January 24.
“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title, Rasel Islam of Bangladesh after seeing a video of his record attempt,” Guinness World Record announced on its website.
“He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship.”
This is coming a few weeks after Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci was declared as the current holder of the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking after reaching 100 hours.
Nigeria’s rope skipping Guinness World Records have now increased to two following Solomon’s latest achievement.
