About 41 Nigerian men were deported from United States today for offences such as drug, immigration and getting in trouble with the police. The deportees landed at Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos at about 12:00pm Nigerian time via Chartered Aircraft operated by Miami Air International. Nine of them were deported on drug related issues, 26 for police offences and 6 for breach of immigration laws. Their deportation comes less than one week after 162 Nigerians were deported from Libya for entering the country illegally.
According to airport immigration sources, those who were deported due to criminal offences in the USA would be further detailed and interrogated to determine if they need some type of rehabilitation before they’ll be set free. On the other hand, those who were deported for breach of the US immigration laws were released to go to their various destinations after passing through Immigration profiling that proved that they are Nigerian citizens.
