President Barack Obama has boldly appeared on the cover of ‘Out Magazine’, making him the first sitting president to appear on the cover of the magazine’s OUT100 issue as “Ally of the Year.” It’s obvious that his stance on the LGBT issues landed him such opportunity to grace the cover of the prominent magazine.
It’s no secret that President Obama has a real soft spot for gay community, so the photo-shoot was conducted in recognition of the magazine’s decision to name Obama as its “Ally of the Year” for the gay community, after his contribution towards securing same-sex marriage in the United States.
Out magazine dedicates one of their monthly issues every year to celebrate and thank a list of 100 people who have contributed in one way or the other to the LGBT community over the past year. It is this list that is called the ‘Out100’. The magazine was founded in 1992 by Michael Goff.
