She is known as Asha Mandela. Originally from Island of Trinidad & Tobago. Migrated to the U.S about 29 years ago and is now a United State citizen. If you care to know more, she has been keeping the dreads for the past 25years. Medical doctors have advised her to cut her hair for health reasons, but she refused for now. Furthermore, her hair weighs 39 pounds. She obtained the Guinness World record for longest dreadlocks in 2008 and she remains the first and only record holder because Guinness decided to retire the category in 2010, due to fact that dreadlocks can be lengthened by twisting extensions. She is 50 years-old, and have earned herself a nickname ” Black Rapunzel” due to her hair length.
