Rapper Yasiin Bey also known as Mos Def voluntarily attempted the procedure for force-feeding detainees at Guantanamo Bay. The four-minute film was made by Human Rights organization Reprieve and Bafta award-winning director Asif Kapadia. The unsuccessful procedure was commissioned by human rights organization Reprieve, with the intent to raise awareness and support for detainees who are being force-fed.
There are over 100 hunger-strikers in Guantanamo Bay [US military detention camp and interrogation facility located in Cuba], but more than 40 of them are being force-fed. The lawyers for four detainees have tried to end the procedure before the holy month ‘Ramadan,’ but the U.S. government rejected the petition on the ground that force-feeding “provide essential nutrition and medical care” and also do not interfere with detainees observant fasting during Ramadan.

Watch the video below, but be warned – some people may find it a bit disturbing.
