A Pair Of Old Shoes Used As Piggy Bank Mistakenly Donated To Goodwill.

A Texas man has mistakengly donated a pair of shoes containing his and his wife’s life savings to Goodwill.

Luckily for them, Goodwill worker who was arranging
recently donated items came across something stuffed inside a black loafer: a
wad of 33 $100 bills [3,300].

The employee then alerted Richard Lopez, manager for the goodwill store in Webster, TX,  who set
aside the cash for seven days to see if someone would come forward for it. Lopez told local
news station KPRC, “We have policies here at Goodwill. We want to make sure
we’re doing the right thing.”

Indeed, the “good will” of the workers worked out.
According to KPRC,
Clarence Cope, was at the store on the day a woman from Galveston came in to
claim the cash, which she described in detail. “She was so grateful,” he said.
“She was crying.”

She narrated that her husband had no knowledge of the old shoe being used as a piggy
bank.

“We were so happy that we were able to get
the money to the right person,” Cope added.

I am happy for the couple, but everyone might not be that lucky. Always do a thorough check before donating your items.  Do you think the man was right for donating his wife’s belongings?
