UK woman Blade Silvano allegedly tricked a female lover into thinking that she was a man for two years, even during sexual intercourse!

“He was using sex toys on me; it was not allowed the other way around.” Her partner alleged.

Sivano’s victim reported to friends that her lover who she knew as Blade Mendez prohibited her from touching him because he was “insecure,” the court was told.

According to one witness, the un-named lover said that Blade never took his top off when they were together.

“She said she had not seen Blade’s penis as he would never have the light on when they had sex.” The witness added.

Cambridge Crown Court was also told that Silvano used an “unknown object” to penetrate the woman twice. He also allegedly kept the partner blindfolded in the bedroom and prevented her from touching her underneath her clothes.

The duo met on dating site Plenty of Fish in late 2016, after Silvano updated her status on a dating site as a ‘man looking for a woman’. They later met in person in December of the same year.

They eventually decided to get married, but their wedding was postponed due to the defendant’s supposed ‘illness’. Two years later, the complainant claimed she discovered Silvano’s true identity on Facebook in September 2018.

Silvano vehemently denies two counts of assault by penetration, claiming she had only met her accuser online, never in person. The trial is expected to last five days.

UK bans Foreign students from bringing family members as dependents

The United Kingdom has announced that foreign students cannot bring family members into the country except on certain conditions. The Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, who is also a product of migration made the announcement as part of the mechanism to reduce net migration.

In her speech, the Home Secretary said that all foreign students, apart from those on postgraduate research programmes will be prevented from bringing their spouses, children or parents to UK from January 2024.

The ban will affect all master’s degree students and some other post-graduates, but it will not apply to PhD students who are highly skilled and whose courses last between 3 to 5 years.

If enacted, the clamp-down will affect many Nigerian students hoping to pursue their postgraduate studies in the UK, as they accounted for the highest increase in the number of dependants accompanying persons with study visas in 2022.

Under the new rule, UK will remove the permission for international students to switch out of the student route and into work routes prior to completing their studies to prevent misuse of the visa system.

This new law comes after indications had emerged that the UK plans to put stricter laws in place to bring down the climbing number of immigrants into the country via studies.

According to some sources, Nigeria had the highest number of dependants (60,923) of sponsored study visa holders in 2022, while India had the second highest number of dependants (38,990).

Analysis of visas issued by the United Kingdom in 2022 to Nigerians revealed that there were more visas granted for Nigerian dependants than for Nigerian students.

Data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency of the UK revealed that 44,195 study visas were issued to Nigerians for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo pleads with President Buhari to Release Nnamdi Kanu

The Igbo socio-cultural organization, ‘Ohanaeze Ndigbo,’ which aims to represent the interests of all Igbo communities within and outside Nigeria has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to help facilitate the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The appeal was made by the group’s new president-general, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu at the flag-off of the Oguta Lake/Orashi River dredging project in Imo State, where Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was present.

Mr. Iwuanyanwu, urged President Buhari, as an “honourary Igbo man,” to comply with the court order that ordered Kanu’s release. He further urged Vice President Osinbajo to convey the message to the president, noting that more than 60 million Igbos in the country support the release of Kanu.

Iwuanyanwu expressed gratitude towards President Buhari for his efforts towards the development of the country, especially in the Igbo land. He added that the President is now an “Igbo son” by virtue of the chieftancy titles given to him by some Igbo states, and he should assist in the release of Kanu before the end of his tenure this year.

Despite court orders for his release, Nnamdi Kanu has remained in detention in connection with the separatist movement of the IPOB and its alleged armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). Iwuanyanwu insisted that the Igbos are not seceding from Nigeria and questioned why anyone would say they are.

“Igbos are not seceding. We have investments. Are we going to leave our investments?” he queried.

Uk court have jailed Senator Ike Ekeremadu, his wife and their family doctor on Friday, May 5, 2023 over an organ harvesting plot involving a young man who was trafficked to the UK in an attempt to harvest his kidney.

The former Deputy Senate President, his wife Beatrice and Dr. Obinna Obeta were sentenced at the UK’s Central Criminal Court, known as the Old Bailey as follows: Ekweremadu, nine years and eight months; his wife, four years and six months, and Dr. Obeta to 10 years in prison in the first conviction of its kind under UK’s Modern Slavery Act.

The trio were found guilty in March of trafficking a 21-year-old former street trader to the UK to provide a kidney for the Ekweremadus’ daughter Sonia, who according to the Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) statement suffers from kidneys disease and needs regular dialysis.

Prosecutors argued that the victim was brought to the UK after being offered a reward of up to £7,000, equivalent of $8,810 and the promise of work in the country, but was oblivious of the fact that he was expected to give a kidney in return.

A medical consultant called off the planned transplant after becoming suspicious of the circumstances surrounding it. The later victim fled, sleeping in uncomfortable conditions for days before reporting the plan to UK police last May, the CPS added.

“This was an horrific plot to exploit a vulnerable victim by trafficking him to the UK for the purpose of transplanting his kidney,” Joanne Jakymec, Chief Crown Prosecutor, was quoted as saying.

“The convicted defendants showed utter disregard for the victim’s welfare, health and well-being and used their considerable influence to a high degree of control throughout, with the victim having limited understanding of what was really going on here,” she continued.

Detective Inspector Esther Richardson, from the Met’s Modern Slavery and Exploitation Command said: “This is a landmark conviction and we commend the victim for his bravery in speaking against these offenders.”

Ekweremadu’s was a former deputy senate president in Nigeria for 12 years, and served as speaker of the ECOWAS parliament between 2011 and 2015. His case evoked sympathy among Nigerians who saw him and his wife as victims of circumstance who were desperate to help their sick daughter.

Some Nigerian political class, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President of the Senate of Nigeria, Ahmad Lawan wrote to the UK court pleading for leniency ahead of his sentencing, but were unsuccessful.
