Ariaria International Market traders protests the killing of their member by officials of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Aba in Abia State Nigeria. According to close sources, the soldiers stormed the market to apprehend some drug dealers who resisted, during the process, argument ensued, which resulted to shots being fired and one man was killed as evidenced by the lifeless body in the wheel chair below. A few others were injured. Other traders took his body to the police station near the market.

The European Union Places Embargo on Some Food Products From Nigeria

The European Union [EU] has placed an embargo on some food export from Nigeria. Some of the food products includes beans, sesame seeds, melon seeds [egusi], dried fish, dry meat, peanut chips and palm oil.

A statement from the European Food Safety Authority says the reason for the ban was because those food items contained ‘a high level of unauthorized pesticide.’

Nigerian beans was banned because it contained between 0.03mg per kg to 4.6mg/kg of dichlorvos pesticide when the acceptable maximum residue limit is 0.01mg/kg. The ban on the food substances will expire in 2016. 


 According to some news agencies, the EU has been issuing warnings to Nigeria that the items constitute danger to human health due to a high level of unauthorized pesticide. The EU said it had issued 50 notifications to Nigerian beans exporters since January 2013. Also, the United Kingdom  issued 13 border rejection alerts to Nigerian beans exporters between January and June 2015. 
This is no doubt a big set-back for a nation that is already going through a rough period from reduction in oil income.

Local artist sculpts Cecil the lion dedication from sand

Lee Stoops, a local artist meticulously sculpted 10-foot-long and 4-feet tall sand lion in memory of ‘Cecil the lion’ around the shorelines of Delray Beach. The 13-year-old beloved lion has been the subject of national news coverage after it was hunted and killed by an American dentist, Walter James Palmer. 

Nigerian Man Jailed in London for Rape; Will Be Deported to Nigeria After Serving Term.

Olaoluwa Ibrahim is originally from Nigerian but resides in London. He appeared at the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday July 28, where he was sentenced for rape and theft. According to sources, Ibrahim, 38, approached his victim, as she got off a night bus in Maida Vale area. He tried to start a conversation with her but she ignored him. Ibrahim grabbed her and pushed her into a driveway where he raped her and made away with her phone. The incident happened in the early hours of June 24 2014. The victim managed to go home and later contacted police. Officers were able to trace Ibrahim via extensive phone inquiries as he had made a number of calls to the victim’s new phone following the incident.

He denied the attack at first, until detectives uncovered DNA evidence. He then claimed he had consensual sex with the victim, he later changed his story again, admitting rape.

His victim gave evidence in the case via video link from Australia, where she is now living, police said. The judge ruled that Ibrahim will be deported back to Nigeria after serving his sentence.
Detective Constable Adam Knott, of the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said that Ibrahim had shown “no remorse or honesty” since he was arrested.
He said: “I would like to reassure the public that attacks of this nature are extremely rare. When they do occur, we do everything we can to bring the offenders to justice.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria commenced a two-day visit to neighboring country Cameroon on Wednesday, to discuss ways of combating ‘Boko Haram’ terror group. Buhari met with  President Paul Biya and senior Cameroonian officials in the capital, Yaounde to talk about building a stronger coalition to battle the Islamist militants. The group is responsible for the abduction of hundreds of girls and women, and using some of them as suicide bombers in attacks on civilian. About 20,000 people have died during Boko Haram’s 6 years of insurgency.

His entourage comprises of state governors, permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency. Among the governors are, Alhaji Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa State, Mr. Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima of Borno State, Mr. Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Mr. Darius Ishaku of Taraba State.

President Buhari is due back in Abuja on Thursday. Upon his return, he will undertake a one-day trip to the Benin Republic for talks with President Boni Yayi on Saturday. It was Buhari’s first official trip to Cameroon since he took office May 29, 2015.

Dare-devil 'Vampire' Arrested and Paraded by officials in Imo State, Nigeria

A very notorious criminal and gang leader, Henry Chibueze nicknamed ‘Vampire’ has been apprehended by men of the Department of State Security[DSS] in Imo State, Nigeria. Chibueze 28, is known for wasting any of his victims whose family did not meet his demands and has allegedly killed more than 300 innocent people.

Vampire got unlucky when he was detailed to kidnap the tribunal Judges lodged at Disney Hotels, along Onitsha -Owerri Road, where Security Operatives, acting on a tip-off pounced on him, but he managed to escape with bullet wounds which he later went to treat in the house of his elder brother‘s wife, where he was arrested alongside his brother‘s wife and her mother. He was paraded along with other gang members before the state governor, Rochas Okoroch and the news men.

During his parade, ‘Vampire’ told the lmo State Governor Owelle-Rochas Okorocha, that he operates in many parts of Nigeria, Cotonou (Republic of Benin) and Abijan in Ivory coast, where his family currently resides. He also confessed that his wife, who hails from Cameroun believes that he deals on Fabrics. He also confessed to many high profile kidnapping and in most cases, assassination of the victims, if they prove headstrong.

Some exhibits recovered from him includes: large sums of money including Ivorian currency, Some AK 47 rifles and pistols.Vampire, an indigene of Nwangele Local Government Area, Imo State, also killed his girlfriend in Lagos, alongside her family, which includes her parents and siblings, because the girlfriend for whom he opened a supermarket in Aba, made away with his N45 million. He was arrested along side Hakeem Bello from Kwara state, deserter from the Nigerian Army who fled from Boko Haram assignment and has been providing cover for him with his Army Identity card; Alexander Ohigide his ‘native doctor’ and treasurer, who hails from Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, lmo state, was equally arrested.

The Killing of 'Cecil the Lion' by American Dentist/Trophy Hunter Provokes Online Outrage.

An American dentist by the name, Walter J. Palmer has been named by Zimbabwean officials as the killer of Cecil, the beloved Lion who usually roamed within the confines of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, and now many people, especially animal lovers are outraged. Cecil, a 13-year-old lion was lured out of it’s Sanctuary. According to sources, the lion wandered out of his Sanctuary following the scent of a potential snack, not knowing that it was a lure by the predators who wanted their prey to cross into unprotected territory so the could have the best bargain out of him.

Cecil, a well known lion with a unique black mane, was reportedly killed on July 1, outside Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park and was beheaded afterwards. According to news reports citing Zimbabwean authorities, Walter James Palmer, a dentist from Bloomington, Minnoesota paid about $55,000 for the hunt or sport of slaying wildlife for trophies. The first shot, which came from Dr. Palmer’s crossbow, was not enough to kill the lion, said the authorities. Cecil was then tracked for nearly two days before Dr. Palmer killed him with a gun. 

Prior to his death, Cecil has been wearing a GPS collar as part of Oxford University research project, they have been tracking him for years which made him very famous.

Thousands of people have signed a petition, intended for Zimbabwe’s president, demanding justice for Cecil. Also, angry animal rights supporters have gone online to express their outrage at Dr. Palmer.


Right after he was named as the hunter who killed Cecil, Dr. Palmer’s dentistry website was taken offline, and social media users quickly created a caricature Facebook page for his office. His Yelp page was also invaded with unpleasant comments.

Ashley Madison, a Canadian-based online cheating website that has been giving cheaters a way out was recently hacked. Their services are marketed to people who are married or in a committed relationship. Its slogan is “Life is short. Have an affair.” The website which was launched in 2001 derived it’s name from two popular female names, “Ashley” and “Madison”. According to third-party web analytics provider, the site has more than 124 million visits per month, as of 2015, and is ranked #18 among Adult sites.


The gist is that the website designed for finding partners for extra-marital affairs, was recently hacked, revealing the personal information of its millions of users. Now cheating spouses are rushing to delete profile from adultery site Ashley Madison ,but it could already be too late. Hackers plan to sell data to the highest bidder. The hackers, known as Impact Team, threatened to release personal information for 37 million user accounts.
